Roles and Responsibilities

The primary focus is on ensuring the efficient, well-controlled, and timely collection of funds from customers, along with the accurate recording of these collections. The role involves conducting in-depth revenue analysis as requested by the Financial Controller, CFO, and Sales team to support effective collection and the management of profitable sales.

Another crucial aspect is the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports for sales and collections to facilitate management control, reporting, and oversight. Additionally, there is a responsibility to aid the Tax Accountant in communicating the VAT and tax implications of rebates and various sales schemes to the CFO and Financial Controller.

Ensuring the accuracy of general ledger and subledger accounts related to revenues and customers, including efficient clearing and reconciliations, is also part of the duties. Daily reviews of customer advances are conducted to prevent any account from surpassing the credit line of zero.

The job encompasses overseeing the end-to-end sales process, ensuring reconciliation from order to dispatch. This involves a comprehensive six-way revenue reconciliation process covering stock movements, weighbridge data, delivery notes, cash collections, SAP records, and VAT tax returns/EFD register.

Acting as a crucial link between the Finance and Sales teams, the role involves coordinating between senior finance officers (CFO and Financial Controller) and the senior sales team, including the Head of Sales. The review and validation of all sales documents, such as rebates, returns, damages, and corrections, are also key responsibilities, ensuring timely processing.

Bank reconciliations for collection bank accounts need to be fully reconciled on a monthly basis. Additionally, the job holder is expected to monitor and report on the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the Finance department, and any other tasks assigned by the FC and/or CFO, including leading in monitoring and reporting KPIs.

Requirements

Candidates should hold a degree or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Finance and/or Audit, with External Audit experience being an added advantage. Professional Accountancy qualifications (CPA, ACA, ACCA) are required, along with a solid understanding of basic computer packages and familiarity with ERPs, particularly SAP. Analytical skills, interpersonal skills, business acumen, and the ability to learn fast are essential. The job requires working under pressure, and the candidate should demonstrate the potential for progression into higher roles within the department and/or organization.
