We are pioneers in the field of Social and Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC) in Tanzania. We write compelling human-centred narratives and present them in form of 3D animations, comic strip posters and radio plays with the aim of encouraging positive social behavioural change. Our strategic use of stories allows us to

Ambassador Jobs at Tai

Job Title Tai Ambassador 
Report to Ambassador Coordinator 
Location Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Contract Duration & Working Hours 6 Months 4 hours per week 

Job Summary

The Tai Tanzania Ambassadors Program is a 6 months program which provides 10 university students in Tanzania with a unique opportunity to take an active role in creating sustainable development in Tanzania. Through this program, youth will gain leadership skills, community service experience, and social impact experience. The program will ultimately create a community of like-minded individuals who are passionate about creating a better future for Tanzania. Your role as a volunteer is to promote and advocate for Tai Tanzania’s educational content among university students in Tanzania. You will be the face of the organisation within your university community and have the opportunity to build new skills through the activities you will participate in.

The duties and responsibilities of a Tai Ambassador 

Every month you are required to: 

  • Organise an activity to share Tai content and have fruitful discussions with at least 40 university students 
  • Share a report of the activities conducted 
  • Attend a Tai event to participate as an attendee and or volunteer 
  • Participate in Tai online campaigns 

Every week you are required to: 

  • Share at least 2 original posts about Tai on at least 3 social media platforms 

Every two weeks you are required to: 

  • Attend a Tai workshop to help you build new skills 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities 

  • Social Media Savy
  • Public Speaking 
  • Event Organising  
  • Ability to write articles and reports 

Qualifications for a Tai Ambassador 

  • Be a first- or second-year university student 
  • Be a formal or informal leader in your current community 
  • Have a passion for storytelling  
  • Have a passion to help your community 
  • Familiar with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and capable of creating visually compelling presentations  
  • Proficient public speaking abilities are an asset   
  • Be a fun individual ready to work in a fast-paced environment 

Teamwork & Participation 

  • To actively participate in organizational activities as may be directed by the Ambassador’s Coordinator 
  • To participate in all activities related to the Tai Ambassador’s program

Benefits of becoming a Tai Ambassador: 

  • Volunteer Opportunities: Ambassadors will get priority when volunteer opportunities arise. This will enable them to gain valuable experience in community service, leadership, and social impact 
  • Networking: Ambassadors will have the opportunity to network with other like-minded individuals who share the same passion for creating sustainable development in Tanzania.  
  • Build New Skills: Ambassadors will get the opportunity to improve their skills such effective communication, content creation, resume writing and interview skills and other available skills they may be interested in.  
  • Priority in Tai internship & employment opportunities: When recruiting interns, a Tai ambassador will be given priority if they apply for the opportunity 
  • Tai Tanzania Merchandise: Ambassadors will receive Tai Tanzania merchandise when it is available. This includes T-shirts, caps, and other promotional items.

Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse 

Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within Tai Tanzania and beneficiaries. 

Code of Conduct 

It is our shared responsibility and obligation to prevent matters involving Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, Trafficking in Persons, Child Safeguarding and any suggested violation to our Code of Conduct, which may involve Conflicts of Interest, Fraud, Corruption or Harassment. If you see, hear or are made aware of any suggested activities then you have an obligation to report.
