Transport Officer
Dar es Salaam
Job purpose
Ensure smooth transportation of Company cargo (goods/materials) to required destinations safely, within schedule and cost; effectively coordinating all stakeholders including transporters, user departments, etc.

May duties
- Coordinate with User departments to determine load transportation requirements scheduling transporters to meet the demand
- Prepare load delivery schedule and transportation routes to meet demand
- Verifies and ensures all required documents are in place as per compliance requirements with the Company standard checklist and TANROADS
- Verify cargo vs documentation before dispatch
- Reinforces health and safety standards including transporters’ compliance
- Manage transportation cost within the departmental budget
- Follow up with transporters for movement as per the commitment
- Ensure the cargo is loaded in full capacity as per the weight restrictions
- Supervise the loading & unloading of the cargo/material, to ensure no breakages or spillages
Key requirements
- 4to 5 years in similar or related roles within logistics and transportation industry
- Diploma/Degree in logistics and transport management
- Excellent planning, organizing and coordinating skills
- Familiar with HSE and Transportation regulations e.g TANROAD
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
