Vacancy: Assistant Accountant at Six Rivers Africa
Six Rivers Africa Seeking an Accounting Assistant to perform daily accounting tasks that will support our financial team.
JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Accounts Assistant will work with the Senior Accountant to ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial reports which would inform management’s decision-making while ensuring controls have been adhered to.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process reimbursement forms.
- Reconciliation of bank accounts and general ledgers.
- Record financial transactions in internal databases.
- Maintain both digital and physical financial records.
- Perform or assist in the execution of month-end close.
- Participate in financial audits.
- Take quarterly stock and create a report.
- Keeping and recording all financial records, including the fixed asset register.
- Assist in the preparation of books of accounts and statutory returns.
- Providing assistance with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Perform all other tasks as specified by his or her supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS and SKILLS
- Degree in finance, accounting, or a similar subject.
- Good understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
- Effective communication and analytical capabilities.
- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Excel and accounting software (such as Sage).
- At least two years of professional experience in a respectable organization.
- CPA/ACCA/CA certification and auditing expertise are advantageous.
