The mine is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of Northwestern Tanzania, only about 85 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s Southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. JOB VACANCY: Ajira Mpya Service Crew job vacancy at GGM in Tanzania

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

to install vent ducting, secondary ventilation fans, water and air lines, dewatering lines, and vent ducting. Stretch electrical, firing, and Jumbo cables as well as pump cables. Put in tension cables and grout. operating mono and electrically submissible pumps underground.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • The Secondary School Education Examination (CSEE).
  • A legitimate Tanzanian driver’s license.
  • A current blasting license (Supplementary).
  • It will be advantageous to have an advanced secondary education certificate.

EXPERIENCE:

  •  One to two years of practical experience in any industrial field or in a UG mining setting.
  • Any real-world experience working on infrastructure or civil projects.
  • Any actual hands-on experience using machinery for earthwork or open pit mining.

MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Safety:

  • Recognize and abide by the safety regulations pertinent to your line of work.
  • Before beginning a task, think about what could go wrong and what has to be done to work safely.
  • Inform the manager if a task cannot be completed safely.
  • Make use of Use the Take 5 tool to find workplace hazards.
  • Provide suggestions for enhancing safety performance.
  • Report any events, injuries, or damages right away.
  • Assist others in doing safe work.

Installation of underground services – Air, water and dewatering lines:

  • To make poly pipes straight and transport them to the needed area, stretch them.
  • Install, attach, and suspend polypipes using chain and shackles-secured J-triple hook hangers.
  • Install air droppers that are raised to a minimum of 1.5 meters above the ground.
  • Before attaching headers, blow out the inside of the pipes to remove any dirt.
  • Headers must be securely fastened to the wall using an eye bolt or secured with shackles on the divided set plate.
  • Secondary ventilation installation.
  • As per the authorized installation plan, put the fan at the proper spot.
  • Install and tighten by fastening a plastic-coated steel knocker line to a rock bolt using shackles.
  • Extend and hang ventilation bags at least twenty meters away from the face.

Working with underground electrical submissible pumps:

  •  To pump out water, set the pump in decline or in the sump.Lift the pump cord off the ground and hang it.Examine the pump in the sump pumps and report any issues you find.

Cleaning of Mono Pumps:

  •  To let go of the filthy water and mud, open the drain valve.
  • Mine pressured water in the mono tank for hosting.
  • Landing platform and steel step ladders should be cleaned.
  • Examine every connection on the mono tank and the pipes.

Installing, Grouting and Tensioning of Cable Bolts:

  • Examine and get ready the tools, equipment, and supplies needed for the task.
  • After uncoiling the cable bolts and attaching the breather tubes, move them to the working area.
  • Put cables into the holes in a safe manner, then close the hole collar.
  • Mix the cement grout and fill the holes and cables with the appropriate amount of cement.
  • Following the completion of the work, tidy up generally.
  • Tighten the cable bolt in accordance with the necessary geotechnical standard once the grout has dried and solidified.

Hanging and retrieving electrical cables:

  • Hang cables on the backs, suspended on the hooks and separated from services.
  • Position cables and back-to-back connections to location where it cannot be damaged.
  • Hang Jumbo trail cables on L-pins and install trail cable sign on the ground.
  • Rolling inside an IT Basket when retrieving cables.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Ability to drive in Mining environment.
  • Thorough understanding and application of Job Safety Analysis Tool.
  • Trained and competent to operate an Integrated Tool Carrier (IT machine)
