The Tanzania Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) is a Statutory Institution owned by the two Governments of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Republic of Zambia on a 50/50 share holding basis, with its registered Head Office being in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The Authority has two Regional Administrative Centres, one in Mpika, Zambia and the other in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

JOB PURPOSE
To provide a clerical service in cash office to facilitate accounting for all earnings from freight and passenger traffic.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sorts and groups cash receipts, remittance notes, and other station-generated material to make it easier to register and account for the money made from each station according to its revenue center or category.
- gathers lists of funds delivered to the revenue section, obtains documentation on daily basis on cash remittances from stations, and other tasks to help with the reconciliation of current account debits and credits.
- To guarantee that all papers arrive by the deadline and to aid in the compilation of reimbursement, keeps accurate and current records of stations that have filed on delayed ones.
- Helps superior verify accuracy of current accounts with stations and fixes problems to guarantee error-free records.
- aims to make information retrieval and reference easier by keeping an accurate record of all papers related to remittances.
- Assists in opening cash bags and counting of cash remittances.
- Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Form IV Academic Certificate
- CABS/Certificate of Accounting from recognized Institution.
- Not more than 45 years of age.
- Not less than two (2) years of relevant work experience
