The overarching objective of the LSF is to improve access to justice by means of a legal empowerment strategy, specifically for women and girls. A paralegal cadre of about 4,000 is supported through implementing partners; they are arranged in 184 small, grassroots groups centered in small areas.

Position Summary

LSF is looking for a talented and highly motivated person to work as a Communications Volunteer on our team. This position will be essential to advancing our goal of expanding legal rights and access to justice in Tanzania as well as our communications strategy. To successfully accomplish our communications objectives, the communications volunteer will collaborate closely with our communications team.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Publications and Content Generation:
  • Provide interesting content for a range of media, including as reports, newsletters, social media updates, and website articles.
  • To ensure that the content you create, edit, and do research is in line with the goals of corporate communication.
  • Create a variety of publications items, including reports, success stories, and fact sheets.
  • Help with Social Media:
  • Oversee certain social media profiles, which includes creating content, planning postings, and interacting with followers.
  • Make content schedules and keep an eye on social media trends to gain insights that can be used to improve strategy.
  • Interaction with the Media:
  • To spread the word about LSF and get media attention, cultivate and nurture relationships with bloggers, influencers, and media outlets.
  • Multimedia and Graphic Design:
  • To improve communication efforts, use your design abilities to produce images, infographics, films, or other multimedia content.
  • Review of the Report:
  • Assist in preparing reports and distributing them to pertinent parties in addition to analyzing grantees’ reports.
  • Control and Observe the Haki Yangu App:
  • Work together with the organization to boost the number of app downloads and paralegal usage.
  • To improve app usage, offer reports and recommend experience-based interventions.
  • Getting Media Kits Ready:
  • Help with the writing of speeches, press releases, feature articles, and other content to improve communication both inside and beyond the company.
  • Observation and Documentation:
  • Keep an eye on social media analytics, media coverage, and other indicators linked to communication.
  • To enhance communication efforts, offer reports and insights on a regular basis.

  Qualifications and Skills

  • A bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communication, or a similar discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise in media engagement, social media management, and content development.
  • Proficiency in multimedia content development and visual design technologies.
  • Strong attention to detail in both writing and editing.
  • Familiarity with media monitoring and communication technologies.
  • The capacity to fulfill deadlines and function efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of the legal or non-governmental sectors is advantageous.
