Knowing where your National ID/NIDA is is very important, as the ID is an important document that is needed in various social and governmental activities. There are three methods you can use to find out where your NIDA ID is.
The first way is through USSD through mobile phones with Vodacom or Airtel SIM cards. You can send a short text message (SMS) to the number 15200 and then write the word “NIDA” and then enter your identification number (NIN). After that, you will receive a message that mentions the section or area where your ID is available.

The second way is through the NIDA website. Visit NIDA’s official website www.nida.go.tz and look for the section that lists “How to find out where your ID is”. Then enter your National Identification Number (NIN) in the field provided and click “Search”. You will get information with the name of the street or ward where your ID is available.
The third way is to visit any regional NIDA office. By visiting the NIDA office, you will get direct assistance from NIDA staff who will help you find out the area or district where your National ID card is available. You can contact the regional NIDA office near you for more information.

- Reconciliation. This service allows NIDA stakeholders to download reconcilliation files recorded during customer verification through CIG.

A payment number (Control Number) is provided to customers who need to pay for services at the National Identity Authority (NIDA). This service is currently only available to citizens of Tanzania.
A payment number is currently provided to anyone in need of:
Paying for a lost or damaged ID to have another one made. The cost of this service is
- Tsh 20,000/- if you are changing for the first time.
- Tsh 30,000/- if you change for the second time.
- Tsh 50,000/- if you change for the third time or more.
