Product Manager Assets job vacancy at NMB Bank. The NMB Bank is a commercial bank in Tanzania. It is licensed by the Bank of Tanzania, the national banking regulator. Since September 2013, the bank has been a major financial services institution, providing commercial banking services to individuals, small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) clients, and large businesses.

Job Location: Head Office, HQ

Job Purpose:

Accountable for the development, management, and performance of Asset products within Retail Banking, ensuring product profitability.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Develop, implement, and manage a compelling portfolio of Asset products in Retail Banking.
2. Ensure effective communication of new products before public launch, providing awareness and training to branches and key stakeholders.
3. Ensure new products adhere to controls and regulations, embody a customer-centric concept, and are fairly priced.
4. Monitor, assess, and report on the framework of new products, ensuring alignment with the bank’s projections, targets, and budget.
5. Analyze, manage, and identify system faults affecting product performance, proposing areas for improvement, obtaining approvals, and overseeing implementation within agreed timelines.
6. Monitor the quality of asset products, working with key stakeholders to keep it within acceptable bank thresholds.
7. Play a pivotal role in innovating Retail Banking Asset products.
8. Manage internal relationships with key stakeholders and business partners during the introduction of new or existing products, aligning with the bank’s risk appetite and customer needs.
9. Conduct regular competitor reviews of Retail Asset product offerings (Quarterly/Semi-Annually/Annually).
10. Conduct profitability analysis to ensure product performance meets targets.
11. Identify and proactively resolve product issues.
12. Take responsibility for product feature enhancements and revamps, ensuring relevance to customer needs and market competition.

Knowledge and Skills:

1. Proficient in constructing reports, executive summaries, and briefs.
2. Comprehensive understanding of the product life cycle.
3. Competent in business planning and project management.
4. Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
5. Standard computer skills, strong interpersonal, and networking skills.
6. Proficient in negotiation and report writing.
7. Presentation, coaching, and training skills.
8. Strong analytical and numerical skills for calculating statistics, figures, and targets.
9. Credit knowledge.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business/Accountancy/Economics/Finance or a related field.
2. Any course or training in product development is an added advantage.
3. 5 years of experience in Banking, with at least 3 years in a Credit or Asset product environment.
